Hi folks

I am stuck at booting from sdcard, the article below is the reference in chapter of “Booting uBoot from an SD card”

http://www.imx6rex.com/software/how-to-uboot-compile-flash-update/

I ran this command in windows “cfimager.exe -raw -offset 0×400 -skip 0×400 -f u-boot.bin -d G”
also in u-boot mode ran “mw.l 0x020d8040 0×3040; mw.l 0x020d8044 0×10000000; reset”

after 1 sec u-boot is booted in fusing mode because of changing cursor like “midnight_>”

So confused.~!!!!! because i followed all action in site.’

What is caused to make happen ???

thanks in advance.

Kevin, what SD slot do you use? The “magic” command is for the SD slot on the edge of the board.

Hi Robert

My aim is to boot from sdcard incluing kernel and rootfile sytem, not having ramdisk
sorry to make missing chracter.
Correction : i just changed prompt.

My Goal is to boot from SDcard.

  1. “cfimager.exe -raw -offset 0×400 -skip 0×400 -f u-boot.bin -d G” in windows
  2. “mw.l 0x020d8040 0×3040; mw.l 0x020d8044 0×10000000; reset” in u-boot
  3. Situation is the same as before, I mean that booting is from spi nor, not sdcard

So that is why i am writing.

Thank Roebert.

Hi Kevin, check the .bin file you used. “midnight” is not iMX6 Rex uboot. Hope it helps, Robert

Hi Robert.
I just changed the prompt in order to know that Is it really written in SPI flash.
So I think that it does not matter

Hello Kevin, now I am confused – SPI or SD card? May I know what do you mean by “I just changed promt”?” Please, could you describe in more details what you are trying to achieve, what did you try and what exactly is happening? Thank you. Robert.

BTW: the standard iMX6 Rex will always boot from SPI first, that is set in eFUSES.
