I’m doing something similar on a custom baseboard.
I’m using a Microchip 7-port USB hub and hooking up an FTDI FT4232H USB to quad UART device to one of the hub’s downstream ports.
You could obviously hook up more than one of these devices to your remaining USB hub ports to give you more UARTs but like Robert mentioned, your throughput might suffer.
The current iMX6 Rex module configuration doesnt have direct support for 4 USB ports + 10 Serial ports. You can always add more serial ports and more USB ports through USB (e.g. USB switch, USB to UART, …), PCIE (PCIE to USB, PCIE to UART, PCI to UART, …), FPGA …. , but the question is how much it will cost, what will be the real throughput and if there is no better platform/solution to achieve your goal.
