To get into 4GB for iMx, it seems like it will need a 4 8Gbit x16 DRAM. An 8Gbit(x16) requires 2 chip selects. But in the schematics there is only one chip select routed to the DRAMs.

What is the strategy iMX6Rex implemented in order to support 4GB?

Thanks!

The Ethernet is working after booted up the image. When I unplug the ethernet cable, the ethernet LED is off. Then I plug-in the cable again, the LED cannot light up and the ethernet is not working forever.

Hi Robert,

just started playing around with the board and the first thing was to compile the kernel and the uboot for myself.

So i used the delivered kernel sources where the build succeeded, but i cannot get the audiooutput from the sgtl5000.
The weird thing, with your kernel everything runs fine …

If the codec is found, there is a print :
SGT5000 Init Start
SGT5000 Init End

which i annot find in the delivered kernel sources … so … i am wondering .. do i really have the needed sources ?

Just wanted to clarify this before i start with the evaluation ;)

Kind regards,
Robert

Hi,
I would like to know if it’s possible to have 4 USB ports +10 serial ports in the same time?
Thanks~

If I connect an I2C device to one of the available I2C ports (for example, an ADXL345 accelerometer), how would I then access the device from within Linux and/or Android.

For example, mobile phones must use something like an accelerometer to determine the orientation of the phone and then use this information to decide when to rotate the screen – is something like this possible on the iMX6 Rex module? How would Android know that there is an I2C device attached?

Thanks,
Kevin

I need to use general purpose input / output pins in our design. How can I do that?

Hi,

Is it possible to provide the dimensions and positions for both the 2x high-speed connectors and the 4 mounting hole sizes and positions for a custom baseboard? I have looked through the Altium design files but it is quite difficult to copy the relevant footprints.

It would be really really nice if there was a single Altium library which contained the footprint for the whole iMX6 Rex module. This would reduce the chance of mis-alignment when placing each connector.

Is this at all possible?

Regards,
Kevin

Does it have any software loaded? What is the minimum connection required? I assume the DB9 is a debug serial port but what is the port setting, baud rate, bits hand shake?

If I was to hook up a custom LCD TFT display using a TTL interface, which pin from the iMX6 Rex board would you advise using for the PWM backlight control? Could I control the frequency and the duty cycle of this pin?

Do you have any plans to do an iMX6 Rex version using the dual core or solo processors?

Hi,

I am considering the possibility of designing a custom base-board to go with the iMX6 Rex module.

Most of the features on the existing base-board are not needed for my end application (such as SATA, PCI-E, HDMI, SIM card, audio, etc) and I also need a much smaller form-factor (approximately 80x120mm in total) roughly the same size as a 5″ LCD display.

I would like to know, if possible, can I connect an LCD display with an 18-bit bus with DCLK, HSYNC, VSYNC and DE signals to the iMX6 Rex module or must the display have an LVDS interface?

The base-board will ideally have an SD card socket from which the desired operating system (Android) would boot. There would also be a USB device connector so that the iMX6 Rex module could enumerate as a mass-storage device (or other USB device if required), a UART for debug output and several I2C devices incorporated as part of an IMU platform. The whole base-board is to run from a 20V battery pack.

The LCD interface is my main concern at the moment as I believe the rest of the requirements are achievable.

Please can you offer any advice on the above?

Regards,
Kevin
